Kings of the Wild Frontier: Recent Research in Roman West Wales

My talk outlines the discovery of a previously unknown road from St David's in Pembrokeshire to Carmarthenshire in 2022. It is suggested that it is prehistoric in origin and was improved in the Roman period. This research also led to the discovery of what appears to be a Roman fort in 2024. The recent geophysical fieldwork associated with this exciting new revelation is also presented, along with some general conclusions about Romano-Celtic relations in the region.
