Shu Susan Chai

My DPhil project examines the nineteenth-century intellectual history of modernism through the representation of architectural remains at Hisarlık (the site of Ancient Troy), focusing on the divergent receptions of prehistoric finds and the role of interpretation within the process of documentation. I also lecture in the History and Theory of Architecture at the Architectural Association (currently on Sabbatical), and at the Southeast University. I am also a practicing architect in the UK and Canada.
